Deer

The Rusa Deer (Cervus timorensis russa) is an introduced pest animal that causes extensive harm to our bushland and natural environment as well as parks, reserves and gardens.

Foxes

Foxes are known to inhabit natural and urban areas throughout the Shire.

Indian Myna Birds

Indian Myna birds are not listed as a pest however they can be controlled provided methods are humane.

Rabbits

Rabbits are found in small densities across the Sutherland Shire due to domestic animal release and natural spread.

Cane Toads

Council continues its work with other agencies to control and monitor this pest.

Red Eared Slider Turtles

Red eared slider turtles or REST originally come from USA and north-eastern Mexico but have now spread across the world and are considered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature as one of the world’s worst invasive species
