School Sport Allocations

Council allocates sporting fields, courts and cricket nets on a seasonal basis.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) will be sought for hire of playing surfaces twice a year. Summer EOI opens in July and winter EOI opens in February.

The summer season aligns with the school terms 1 and 4.

The winter season aligns with the school terms 2 and 3.

Schools may request allocation between 9am to 3pm within school terms. School groups may only request actual usage (maximum of 4 hours per field per day), with blanket bookings not accepted.

Please complete the following steps to request allocation of a sporting field for school sport:

  1. Click on the Request Seasonal Allocation of a Sporting Facility button
  2. Login to the booking portal with Username and Password provided (if you do not know your username please contact sport@ssc.nsw.gov.au or 9710 0893 before proceeding)
  3. Select SEASONAL in the top left
  4. Select the upcoming season you are requesting allocation for
  5. Filter search by VENUE TYPE, ACTIVITY TYPE, SEARCH FOR A VENUE or simply scroll through the list
  6. Select Sport Facility you wish to request allocation for
  7. Complete section 1 BOOKING OVERVIEW and select PURPOSE Seasonal School Sport Field Allocation
  8. Complete section 2 BOOKING ITEMS
  9. Select CREATE REPEAT/ADD DATE to modify weekly bookings
  10. Select ADVANCED TIMINGS to adjust days and times of bookings as required
  11. Review included dates and select the bin to remove any unwanted dates
  12. Select CHECK OUT
  13. Add Public Liability Insurance in REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
  14. Complete a final review of your booking dates
  15. Select COMPLETE if no modifications are required

Sport Services will review you EOI and be in touch to modify to approve your allocation

Request Seasonal Allocation of a Sporting Facility

School Athletics Carnivals

Sutherland Shire Council has two synthetic athletics tracks (Sylvania Waters and The Ridge) and one grass athletics track (Waratah) available to schools to host their athletics carnivals.

Booking requests will be sought for zone carnivals and schools within the Sutherland Shire in September and will be sought for schools outside the Sutherland Shire in October.

School Cross Country

Sutherland Shire Council provides schools the ability to host their school cross country event on approved sporting fields and reserves (a bin service fee applies to bookings made at Miranda Park).

Expressions of Interest (EOI) will be sought for cross country events from September for the following year.

Casual Sporting Facility Hire

Sporting facilities in the Sutherland Shire are available to schools to book on a casual basis for training and competition.

Follow the instructions below to book a sporting facility for your school sport knock out match, gala day, regional or state sporting event etc. (fees may apply).
