The health and wellbeing of our community is of utmost importance and Council is closely monitoring the advice and adhering to the directives of public health agencies on Coronavirus (COVID 19). The latest information is available on our website here.

With effect from 7 July 2021, consistent with current directions related to social distancing and COVIDSafe guidance, for the safety of our community, our Councillors and staff, we have implemented the following revised safety measures for all Council and Standing Committee Meetings:

Social distancing measures in Chambers

Chambers configuration has been temporarily changed to accommodate required social distancing measures and in particular the 4m2 per 1 person and 1.5m social distancing rules remain in place and are being used to guide public gallery numbers.

Public Gallery

Members of the public will not be permitted to attend the meeting as part of the public gallery. Please note however, in accordance with Council’s Code of Meeting Practice, a webcast sound recording of the meeting will be published to Council’s website by no later than 1pm the next business day following the meeting.

Public Forum

There will be a modified Public Forum.

Public Forum presenters will not be permitted to attend the meeting but written representations will be read aloud during the meeting proceedings.

Anyone wishing to present to Council as part of the Public Forum will be required to make a written submission of no more than 400 words on the specific item of business in the agenda. Should you wish to participate in the Public Forum:

Please Register via our website here.

Please email your maximum 400 word written representation to Council at governance@ssc.nsw.gov.au no later than 5pm on the Friday before the meeting date.

A member of the governance team will contact you no later than 1pm on the day of the meeting to confirm if your application for the Public Forum has been successful.

Your written representation will be considered in line with Council’s Public Forum policy.

If successful, your written representation will be read aloud to the meeting for webcast purposes, identifying the name of the person who made the submission and noted in the Minutes of the meeting accordingly.

Face Masks

Face masks are compulsory in all Council worksites, including Chambers.

Remote meeting attendance facilities available for Councillors and Staff

We continue to make available remote meeting attendance technology for staff and Councillors whose remote attendance has been approved by Council.

Meeting webcasts

In accordance with Council’s Code of Meeting Practice, Council continues to webcast sound recordings of all Council and Council Standing Committee meetings. Webcasts are published to Council’s website by no later than 1pm the next business day following the meeting.
