Come together and get involved with your community during Youth Week. Share your ideas and views on issues important to you, showcase your talents, plus enjoy a variety of fun events and activities.

Sutherland Shire Council in partnership with our local Youth Services and Youth Reference Group are excited to offer the following free events…

Robot Building Workshop

Spend the time building your very own robot! Meet new friends and learn new skills at our 2 hour workshop. Operate workshop machinery such as a drill press, sander and saws with the assistance and supervision of Caringbah Craft Centre's experienced staff. Registerations essential. Two dates to choose from! Thursday 22 April 4-6pm, Saturday 24 April 10.30am-12.30pm @ Caringbah Craft Centre (20 Dudley Avenue)

Boombox (Music Event)

Enjoy a free all ages live music gig and check out Boombox, a night of performances from young, local and aspiring musicians! Registrations essential. Friday 16 April 6-9pm at Project Youth (Menai Youth Centre, 34/42 Allison Cres, Menai).

3D Printing Workshop for Teens

Come and see a 3D printer in action! Learn how to design objects using the technology and make your own creation that you can take home. A free event for young people ages 13+ and aimed at beginners. Thursday 15 April 2pm-3.30pm @ Sutherland Library. Registrations essential!

Shire Shred

Cronulla’s Youth Surf Festival for all levels and abilities. The event includes a surfing competition run by NSW Surfing, learn to surf classes, skateboarding activities, live music and art, food trucks and more. Activities kick off from 8am Saturday 17 April @ Wanda Beach.

2233 Festival

Engadine District Youth Services (EDYS) is hosting 2233 Festival at Cooper Street Reserve in Engadine! Come out for free skate workshops from 11am-1pm, scooter session from 1pm-3pm, free food, music and fun during the school holidays. Celebrate Youth Week, have fun and win some prizes! Be sure to catch the skate demo, too! Friday 16 April 11am-3pm @ Cooper St Reserve, Engadine. Registrations essential.

Learn to Play Card Games

PCYC Sutherland Open Day

Come and get involved in a range of cool activities at PCYC! Check out what the PCYC has to offer, watch a live mural painting, enjoy a community BBQ and more free activities! Intergenerational Storytelling (Free Movie Screening)

Celebrate local Aboriginal culture and intergenerational learning in our community at the Intergenerational Stortelling move screening as part of Youth Week and Seniors Festival. First screening Wednesday 14 April 6-8pm, second screening Wednesday 21 April 6-8pm @ Hoyts Cinema (Cronulla). This is a free event but registrations are essential.

Short Stuff (Short Film Competition)

Short Stuff is a Film Competition for Young People aged 12-24, who are currently living in the Sutherland Shire, Georges River and Bayside Council areas. Films must be created on a smart phone and submitted online via the Short Stuff website due by 9 April. All films entered are judged by a panel of judges who work in the film and creative industries and the winners will be announced at a live stream screening event on Wednesday 21 April.

Youth Artisan Markets

Support young people aged 12-25 showcasing their art and craft, pick up some unique gifts, enjoy music by aspiring young performers and more! Saturday 24 April 8.30am-1pm @ 34/42 Allison Cres, Menai (Menai Marketplace). Enquiries: Karent@projectyouth.org.au
