Doing It Differently Grant

Doing It Differently (DID) is a joint community grants program between Sutherland Shire Council and South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. DID aims to improve community health and well-being, enhance levels of trust and understanding, and build healthy, strong and connected communities.

DID has taken the community development approach known as Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) to focus on abilities, aspirations and potential rather than problems and deficits. This positive and engaging approach aims to discover and mobilise resources already present in the community. The ABCD approach encourages applicants to shift their mindset from focusing on needs and deficiencies, to considering assets, resources and possibilities to enhance positive outcomes.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are not currently able to offer the DID Grants Program. We hope to make this valuable grant opportunity available again as soon as possible.

Doing It Differently

The Sutherland Doing It Differently program funded 14 projects to help improve health and well-being

We thank all the local volunteers and organisations for their time and effort in helping create a strong, connected and caring community
