Renata's journey in the Early Childhood Education & Care Sector began in July 2000 with the opening of Renata's Family Day Care, located in Sylvania.
Her award-winning childcare service is located a short 3-minute walk from Southgate Shopping Centre, the Princess Highway and Port Hacking Road.
A nurturer at heart, Renata was steered towards Early Childhood Education & Care by sheer ‘chance’ and an unexpected life encounter. She is fulfilling her life’s purpose in offering a quality childcare service for local families. With every passing year, her love for her job strengthens, forever changing and always inspiring. Many children, families and friends have joined Renata’s FDC over the last 20+ years, contributing to the award-winning education & care service you see standing today.
Renata is mum to Lynda, Nik, Steve & Dave (all young adults now).

About my service
At Renata’s Family Day Care, we encourage creative and independent thinking and build on children’s self-confidence as we explore the many possibilities of childhood.
We are a highly respected and professional Early Childhood Education & Care service located in the heart of Sylvania.
Every child’s voice in my service is respected and their presence valued. We advocate an interest-based play curriculum being the most effective form of learning. A genuine importance is placed on sustainability, the outdoors and natural learning resources, acknowledging and respecting the many benefits they bring to development and growth.
Embracing 'risk' in play is encouraged, strengthening children’s abilities to self-assess as they encounter future risks in life. Our program provides a rich array of learning resources, stimulating the children in all areas of their development. Immersed in the process of learning, together we are continually collaborating and evolving.
With importance given to being active members of community, the children are exposed to weekly outings and community connections. We respect our planet and encourage recycling at every opportunity we get.
Regular industry training exposes the passion and dedication offered by Renata to both children and families in care. At Renata’s Family Day Care, we encourage collaboration with the children as well as their families, which in turn influences our learning curriculum. We create a confident and inclusive environment where the children are free to flourish.
We proudly advocate the many benefits of Family Day Care in Early Childhood. Providing quality outcomes for all children daily, based on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and guided by the National Quality Framework (NQF).
The philosophy at Renata’s Family Day Care is continually evolving to reflect the needs of the children in care, families and community, along with current industry best practice. We open our doors to the public through regular social media posts, engaging with community connections often and embracing all that it has to offer.
We are here to encourage and support true success within every child that comes to care.
We are the family in FAMILY DAY CARE.

About my facilities
Renata’s Family Day Care environment is purpose built and separate to my home environment. A learning space created specifically for the curious young mind. A safe and stimulating space that encourages both indoor & outdoor exploring. An open plan setting accessible to all children in care.
With seven key learning areas set up at all times, there is something here to stimulate all ages. The resources and learning provocations change as the children’s interests expand. Independent learning is encouraged by an environment set up as the 'third teacher', with all resources age appropriate and easily accessed by the children independently. Much pride and thought goes into the learning provocations offered with the goal of instilling a natural intrigue and love for learning from a very young age.
Offering a safe and enclosed outdoor area for the children to explore freely which includes:
- Community garden
- Slippery slide
- Ride on cars and trikes
- Cubby house
- Sand pit/quarry
- Climbing equipment
- Mud kitchen
- Outdoor Nature Classroom
- Edible bush tucker garden (native to our area)
- Room to run
A separate sleep room allows for the babies and very young to have uninterrupted sleep routines. Older children have their own stretcher beds put out for daily sleep and rest times.
A purpose-built toileting area that includes kinder toilet, adult toilet and potty. Also offered is a double hand washing basin that ensures room for all children at all times. Adjacent to this is our nappy change area. There are also lockers for parents who prefer to bring in nappies and wipes in bulk.
An operating kitchen on the premises allows for both hot and cold foods to be served.
"It just doesn't get better than Renata - I was lucky to get her for my first child in 2011 (she stayed in Renata's care for 3 years), and purposely waited until she had a vacancy to put my second child in care. She puts an incredible amount of thought and preparation into her environment and daily programs for the kids. She is loving, dynamic and you can tell she loves her job, which means the kids LOVE her." Lindsey.
"I cannot speak highly enough to describe Renata. The care, creativity and love she has for not only my child, but the other children in her care is beyond what you would expect. My son comes home with a massive smile on his face and as soon as I arrive he wants to be put down so he can play, or he puts out his arms for Renata to cuddle him. He has been in Renata's care since he was 5 months old and I just love the photos and updates you get along the way. There are girls in my mothers group who are so envious that I have found her. I feel blessed that my son is so well taken care of." Sarah
"Renata is a wonderful educator with many years experience. Her Family Day Care is a calm and nurturing environment where everyone is treated with dignity. When my 11 month old started in care, Renata went above and beyond to educate herself with regards to my daughter's allergy and nothing was too much trouble. She provides age appropriate and stimulating activities and is very flexible with adapting to each child's interests/needs. I wish I had discovered Renata's Family Day Care years ago when I was looking for care options for my older daughter." Sally
"My son was so attached to me that I was super anxious about starting care. I knew when I entered Renata's Family Day Care that it was for us. Harrison adjusted so well because he was loved and cared for by Renata while kept busy with activities. The environment is stimulating and Renata is so creative with new ideas for play-based learning. She also takes the kids on excursions often. Harrison just loves it! I feel that he learns so much more than I can teach him at Renata's and I do not feel guilty about working and leaving my son in care." Carly.
