For as long as I can remember, I knew I wanted to work with young children. I have provided both paid and voluntary care and education to children in one form or another since I was 14 years old.
I commenced studying Early Childhood Education and Care at TAFE, earning my Diploma in 2002. After deciding to further my studies, I gained a Bachelors Degree in Teaching (children from birth - five years old).
I have been working in the Early Childhood sector since earning my Diploma in 2002 in various long day care services.
After giving birth to my second child in 2015, I decided that Family Day Care would be a more relevant professional option for my growing family.
I'm now the very proud mum of two beautiful school age children, Baylie (8 years) and Charlie (5 years). I love that Family Day Care provides me with an avenue to care for my own children, whilst also allowing me to practise my early childhood knowledge and skills in a professional setting.

About my service
I provide children with a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment, where they are free to learn at their own pace through a combination of play, child-initiated experiences, and intentional teaching.
I plan for the children’s learning based on their individual interests and needs, guided by the National Quality Standards, and the Early Years Learning Framework (the industry recognised and approved guideline to educating children in their early years).
From the very first day your child commences care, they are developing the skills they will need to thrive at school. Children are offered participation in a School Readiness Program during their final year of care before school.
Within my service, I provide a range of consumables including tissues, gloves, wipes, bed linen, blankets, wraps, bibs, and hand towels.
My Family Day Care service is named ‘Wise and Wonderful’. I believe that with a positive influence, the correct teaching, and enough love, children can grow into Wise and Wonderful humans. And isn’t that what we all want for our children?
About my facilities
Wise and Wonderful Family Day Care is located in Peakhurst.
Our service features a bright, modern indoor play space in the front of my home, solely for Family Day Care purposes. Our indoor play area is connected to a modern bathroom and a separate sleep room for the children to use as needed.
We have many resources for children of all ages that can be used both indoors and outdoors. Some of these include:
- craft supplies

- an enormous book shelf
Our spacious outdoor environment features natural grass, A-frames and balance boards, hoola-hoops, balls of all sizes, a wall-mounted chalkboard, a child-sized picnic table, and many other resources which allow the children to develop gross motor skills, social connections and emotional confidence.
Parents in Brooke's Family Day Care service were keen to share their positive experience:
"Brooke is the best Educator I have ever come across in all the years of having my three children in care. She is the most caring, loving, organised and respectful person I know. Any child in her care is getting the best care they could possibly receive.”
"I had never considered taking my daughter to day care. The day I met Brooke I not only considered it, but I ran with the idea. Brooke is knowledgeable, has an extensive background and many years experience in childcare, but most importantly she is amazing with kids. I liked her from the first time I saw how she interacted with kids and led a play group I had attended. Since then I have observed more of her amazing qualities in the time my daughter has attended Wise and Wonderful. She is extremely calm, patient, attentive, playful, funny, fun, organised, is able to grab children’s attention, can distract and redirect easily, and follows through on tasks she had set out for the kids, but also has enough flexibility and creativity to change the plan when needed. Her mind must be going 100 miles an hour to keep tabs on all the kids at once, and yet she is always calm and smiley every time I see her. My daughter had a fantastic first day which I thought may have been a fluke, but every day since has been fantastic and my daughter loves going there. It’s intimate, there is a lot of attention on each kid which I feel is ideal, and the kids are kept busy, entertained and well monitored. Thank you so much Brooke, Wise and Wonderful has been so much more than I had ever expected!”
"Brooke is an amazing Educator and her ability to create wonderful learning experiences that include and engage children of all abilities and ages is outstanding. Brooke has a fantastic capacity to establish positive and welcoming relationships with the young children in her care. She clearly puts a huge amount of time and preparation into organising the learning environment at her centre. The range of resources and equipment she has to educate and entertain the children is of a high quality. Brooke uses many different forms, both written and verbal communication, to provide feedback to parents on the progress of their children. This includes daily email reflections, weekly newsletters, daily reporting templates (e.g. notes about food eaten/sleep times during the day for our child), text messages and face to face conversations. From day one, Brooke has made us feel very secure and confident as parents. She really is wonderful at her job."
"Brooke is an exceptional, professional and dedicated Family Day Care Educator. I am lucky to have known Brooke prior to her FDC business and always knew that one day she would be looking after one of my boys. Brooke’s passion for her role is evident through her organisation of daily learning activities, excursions, daily reflections, theme/learning days and her efficient and knowledgeable running of her FDC business. If your child is new to day care, this is a great start as it is a like being with a 'mum' as it is such a close and nurturing environment."
