Location & Community

Waratah Street is a quiet, smaller-scale centre situated next to beautiful Gunnamatta Park.

We are located a one minute walk from Cronulla train and close to primary schools including Cronulla, Cronulla South and Burraneer Bay Public Schools and St Aloysius.

We make great use of our beautiful local environment to extend the children's learning, with much community engagement within our curriculum. We visit local schools, parks, library for story time and even Bundeena via ferry for picnics.

Families love our centre’s community feel. We host many events to help families connect and build friendships with others.

We enjoy wonderful relationships with families, many of whom contribute to the curriculum. Some parents share cultural knowledge (through dance, language, art, craft) and also join us on excursions.

Our Team

Families value our warm and nurturing team and the genuine care we have for the children.

Being a smaller scale service, we meet every child’s individual needs (school readiness preparation, learning needs, social skills support, toilet training - our team warmly supports parents with their child's specific requirements).

We possess a thorough knowledge of child development and an understanding of how children learn.

The individual talents and strengths of our team creates a diverse learning curriculum for the children. Our passion for sustainability, cultural awareness, arts and wellbeing is reflected in our programs, along with the children’s own interests and voices.

Large Outdoors

The children enjoy our spacious, split-level playground featuring a large shaded sandpit, wooden tee pee, climbing and balancing equipment, tree ladder, vegetable garden and an open space for group games such as soccer.

Our verandah is a wonderful place to enjoy meals and messy craft and play, along with beautiful views of the park and Gunnamatta Bay.

Our dedicated outdoor learning curriculum fosters the same amount of intentional and spontaneous learning as our indoor environment. Our outdoor space is divided into learning environments (e.g. creative play, dramatic play, construction) where our Educators actively engage with the children and facilitate play-based learning during our many hours outside.

"The Educators show genuine care, concern and affection towards our daughters. Each small step of achievement in our daughters' development is something that receives focus from the staff in a highly positive and reinforcing way. It really feels like they treat our children like family. More important than anything else, our girls love going there and love the environment created by the staff and love the staff."

"The Educators are lovely, very caring and supportive. The environment is excellent and so is the location. I really enjoy how the staff are constantly looking at improving the experience of the kids by taking them on excursions and the like. The school readiness has been great too."

"The Educators are amazing - extremely helpful in sharing information about my daughter’s day.”
