Location & Community

Our centre is opposite Jannali Public School and a short walk to Jannali train station. We are situated among residential homes - an easy place for parents to park and walk to the local train station.

We take full advantage of our central location and the children enjoy regular educational excursions to the local library, fire station, shops and public school. Significant days of celebration also see the children attend ANZAC Day events and NAIDOC celebrations in Cronulla.

The community also comes to Soldiers Road, with visits from a local Aboriginal artist, librarians, Rangers on the Run animal encounters and the fire brigade.

Community is at the heart of our centre. We are fortunate to have family volunteers assisting on excursions and providing input into our centre programs. Our Parent Committee meets regularly to assist with centre updates and family events.

We enjoy positive relationships with all families and encourage input into their child’s curriculum. Families join us to share holiday photos with their child, participate in 'read to me' days and share their skills and talents with the children.

Great Outdoors

The children enjoy one of the biggest and most well-resourced outdoor spaces seen in any childcare service.

They spend many hours in our vast outdoors exploring the natural surrounds and our large sailing boat, structured musical equipment, multiple slides, sandpit, cubby house, balancing and climbing equipment, natural walkways and unique play areas.

Our large covered area is ideal for meals and engaging in craft and messy play.

Our image gallery below provides a glimpse into our magnificent playground. If your child loves being outside and needs plenty of space to run and play, then Soldiers Road is a must on your childcare shopping list.

Our Team

Our experienced team meets every child’s individual needs (school readiness preparation, learning needs, social skills support, toilet training – we warmly supports parents with their child's specific requirements).

Our Educators’ individual talents and strengths creates a diverse learning curriculum for the children. Their passion for sustainability, cultural awareness, arts and charitable causes is reflected in our programs, along with the children’s own interests and voices.

We also value group times and the learning opportunities these provide. Within our daily program are multiple structured group times to allow for exploration of the children's and Educators' current interests. Our Educators are also passionate learners themselves, with some studying additional qualifications.

Our team has many years' experience in the early years’ sector and many are also long-term faces at Soldiers Road. Consistency in staffing is very important to us, the children and families. We have dedicated team members who cover Educators during time allocated for programming and leave days.

"Our children have been valued as individuals and the personal development of each has been fostered during our six years with the centre. They are resilient, feel loved and safe, and are well prepared for big school. The Educators are well qualified and enthusiastic in bringing new ideas and activities to develop our children."

"My son has had a wonderful experience since starting at Soldiers Road. He has made great friends and we have seen him bloom in confidence and physical ability. I can tell the teachers really care for the kids. They are experienced and have done a great job of broadening the kids’ minds while letting them grow into their individual personalities."

"People say so often, 'you have done so well to bring up such a polite and well-adjusted kid'. I have to share that credit with the Soldiers Road team, who have all played a part in allowing her to grow, evolve, learn and become the young girl she is today. Her time at Soldiers Road has been an incredible adventure, and you have taught and shared knowledge with her that has allowed her to learn much about herself and the world around. I never wanted childcare to be about forming letters and drawing shapes. I wanted it to be about being social and forming relationships and learning concepts and respecting people and the environment. And you have all delivered this in monumental ways. Individually, you have all gifted her such a range of experiences and love. These things will be with her from here on in. Thank you so much for looking after my daughter, and doing the wonderful things you do every day that makes such a difference in our lives."

“Fiona and her team are so caring, dedicated and absolutely lovely. They have made the transition into care as easy as possible for my daughter and also me, knowing she is being looked after so well and spending her day open to a range of experiences. The team also provide excellent communication with me and are attentive and supportive to her individual needs. Thank you again, and the Soldiers Road team, for everything you are doing for my daughter’s development and happiness. I am truly grateful."
