Our Team

When we asked some of our Moore Street families what they love about our centre, the answer was unanimous - our Educators' dedication to the children.

Our team is welcoming, kind and motivated by the genuine care and love we have for the children. We build a great rapport with all children and families, and we collaborate very closely with parents on their children’s development and individual learning goals.

Many of our Educators are long-standing, and families value this consistency. Even our cook, dubbed by one family as "the best cook in the Shire", is synonymous with Moore Street.

Our team is diverse - male and female and varying ages and cultures - and our individual talents and specialties create an engaging and dynamic learning curriculum. Among our team is a talented musician (the children love the days he brings his keyboard to Kindy to play music with them), sustainability enthusiast, avid gardener and cook.

Our team possesses a thorough knowledge of child development and an understanding of how children learn.

Location & Community

We are based in the heart of Sutherland and a one minute walk from Sutherland train station.

Excursions are an important part of the children's holistic learning program, and we take full advantage of our prime location. The children enjoy regular excursions to the local library, fire station and public school. Significant days of celebration also see the children attend ANZAC Day events and NAIDOC celebrations in Cronulla.

Community is at the heart of Moore Street. We develop close partnerships with families, who join us for morning and afternoon teas, cultural celebrations, performances, excursions and other social events for families to build a connection with us and other centre families.

We encourage family contributions to the children's curriculum. Families are invited to share in experiences at the centre through activities such as reading stories, gardening and discussions about occupations with the children.

Spacious Outdoors

The children enjoy our large, modern and well-shaded outdoors to promote learning and development, including two large sandpits, climbing and balancing equipment, mud kitchens, large shaded area for messy craft and play and a designated baby play area.

The outdoors also features a large art mural, painted by Indigenous students from Endeavour Sports High School and inspired by Aboriginal rock engravings in the Royal National Park.

“My children’s Moore Street Educators are in a league of their own. Even the chef is amazing. Every single day my son’s Educator makes the children feel excited about what great learning they will be doing ‘Guess what, today we are building a rocket ship’. She also builds every child’s confidence by giving them a compliment when their parent picks them up ‘You should have seen the artwork Ethan did today, it was awesome he might be a painter when he grows up’. The children absolutely love this. This year my daughter is in the baby room. Leaving a child so young can be tough, but I never have any concerns and I know the care she receives is second to none.”

"My little lady just loves coming - walks straight on in and of an afternoon is too busy showing me all the fun things she does and doesn’t want to leave - it’s a sure sign that she’s happy and that is all I could ever ask for."

"I've been at Moore Street for over 5 years and have been extremely happy with the Educators and how much they go over & beyond for each and every child. I couldn’t have asked for a better service for both of my children.""As a parent it is incredibly comforting to know your child is so well cared for and that they want to go each day! His teachers and friends are now part of his life. The staff turnover is so minimal, the continuity and quality is really important and something to be proud of."

"The Educators are wonderful, always happy to communicate and build rapport with families. There’s always a great range of activities, learning experiences and social opportunities provided.”

"My son is so happy here. Staff turnover is almost non-existent so he has continuity and security. Everyone is kind, helpful and good at communicating. It makes my life so much easier and I feel more relaxed knowing my son is so well cared for."
